Hire Well. Treat Well. Grow Well.

- Tenzin Jigme, Founder

We are projected to save restoration businesses $3 million in hiring costs by the end of 2026.

It Started With One Empty Seat

Karma Staff started with a clue most restoration owners would recognize: one empty seat making too much work pile up. At PuroClean of Alexandria, Tenzin Jigme needed an office administrator, and the pressure was clear: calls waiting, files sitting, customers needing updates, and too much depending on too few people.

So he turned to someone in India. The work got done reliably, and the idea began to prove itself: with the right person, training, and structure, remote professionals could support meaningful restoration work from thousands of miles away.

Three years later, Karma Staff has grown from 5 team members to 80, screened 20,006 candidates, completed 16,280 training hours, helped 36 remote professionals, and expanded beyond Dehradun with the Noida branch. The company has grown, but the reason remains the same: helping restoration owners manage the work that keeps moving after the crews leave the jobsite.

Milestones That Helped Us Grow Better

We'll spare you the marching band. But we will pretend these milestones were just nice additions to a company timeline. Each one changed how Karma Staff learned, trained, supported, or showed up for the restoration industry.

The Leadership That Joined the Build

A company can start with a founder’s problem, but it cannot grow on founder energy forever. As Karma Staff moved from 5 team members to 80, leadership became part of the structure.

Founder Tenzin Jigme, co-founder Tenzin Nordon, CFO Ogyen Palmo, CRO Scott Sandel, COO Kalsang Lhadon Teykhang, Marketing Director Tenzin Wangjor, and the wider leadership team helped bring stronger direction to finance, sales, operations, marketing, training, client support, and daily execution.

The company also learned from industry professionals including Sandy Lucke, Tanner Sandel, Lisa Lavender, Dominika Mazur, and others, whose guidance helped the team better understand the tools, urgency, and pressure points restoration businesses deal with every day.

December 2026: $3M in Client Hiring Cost Savings

Karma Staff is on track to help clients save $3M in hiring costs by the end of 2026, showing the real business impact of dependable remote support.

How We Got Here

At some point, Karma Staff had to answer a simple question: what makes remote support actually work in restoration? The answer was better judgment before the hire and better preparation before the handoff. Restoration has its own pace, pressure, language, and software, so training became a core part of the model. Team members are prepared around partner workflows, communication standards, and tools such as Xactimate, Symbility, Encircle, DocuSketch, CRMs, documentation systems, invoicing workflows, reporting, and job coordination.

Recruiting had to become just as intentional. Karma Staff saw what restoration owners were up against: tight labor markets, rising costs, retention problems, and roles that could not be solved by sending over the first decent resume. So the company prioritized quality over quantity, employee development, benefits, culture, and systems that help people stay and grow. Across 16,280 training hours, the goal has stayed practical: select carefully, train seriously, support consistently, and give people a reason to build something long-term.

Resources Built for Restoration Owners

Staffing is still the main way Karma Staff helps restoration owners. But after working closely with restoration businesses, one thing became clear: owners also need practical tools, clearer visibility, and fewer places for important work to get lost.

That is why Karma Staff has built resources around the staffing model, including the First-Pass Estimate Approval Blueprint, the Candidate Portal, KnowHow process resources, and the Restoration Success Webinar. The newsletter has also grown into 50+ editions, 12,000+ views, and 800+ subscribers.

Restoration Insider Podcast adds another layer to that work, with 8 episodes featuring Phillip Rosebrook, Scott Miller, JT Kraai, Kayla McGowan, Gregg Taylor, Karen Vick, Lisa Lavender, and Eric Sprague, plus one more episode planned with Scott Sandel.

Karma Staff also uses Curatio, an AI-supported application built internally to help teams add tasks, track deadlines, organize resources, and use an AI chatbox to move work forward with more clarity. The point is simple: make the work easier to see, easier to manage, and harder to lose.

Three Lessons We Got Right

Three years will teach you things a planning document cannot. Some lessons came through client feedback, some through partnerships, and some through the everyday pressure of helping restoration businesses keep work moving.

  1. Restoration owners needed real support.

Karma Staff started because too much admin and operational work was sitting on too few people. The clearest lesson has been that dependable support gives owners more room to lead, follow up, and make decisions without carrying every task themselves.

  1. Relationships move the work forward.

Relationships with Scott Sandel, PuroClean, R&R, RIA, Lever360, trainers, partners, and industry professionals helped Karma Staff learn the industry from the inside. In restoration, trust still opens doors and makes better work possible.

  1. Restoration owners are open to change when the support proves itself.

Owners shift their workforce when the help is practical, trustworthy, and steady inside the day-to-day work. That openness has shaped how Karma Staff thinks about the future of restoration support.

Real feedback from the businesses we support every day.

Thank You for Building This With Us

To our clients: thank you for trusting us while we were still finding our footing. Some of you came to Karma Staff with one open role, one overloaded manager, one slow-moving process, or one problem that had been sitting too long. You let our people into your workflows, your systems, your busy seasons, and your feedback loops, and that trust helped us grow up faster than any planning session could have. You told us what worked and what needed fixing. Thank you for both.

To the Karma Staff team: growth looks exciting from the outside. From the inside, it looks like interviews, training calls, revised notes, late fixes, hard conversations, and people choosing to care about ordinary tasks nobody's watching.

That's what actually built this. To the recruiters, the trainers, the operations team, the support teams handling the messy middle, the leaders making hard calls, and every remote professional showing up inside client operations daily: thank you. There's still more to improve, and there's also a lot to be proud of. Both things are true at once, and that's fine by us.

Where We Go From Here

Three years in, we are proud, and we are also realistic. A good anniversary is worth celebrating; the real test is what gets built after it.

Jigme has been clear about the bar he has set: he wants Karma Staff to be the name restoration owners think of first when they need dependable office and operational support. That ambition shapes what comes next: the R&R Convention this September, the PuroClean Convention in June 2027, more Restoration Insider Podcast conversations, more industry guides and practical resources, more KnowHow processes, and more AI-supported tools that remove friction from the work.

We will keep listening to restoration owners. Their challenges will guide what we invest in, what we teach, what we build, and how we keep showing up for the industry.

Three Years In, the Standard Remains the Same

Karma Staff has grown since September 1, 2023, but the reason behind the company has not changed. Restoration owners still carry demanding workloads. Customers still expect clear communication under pressure. Estimates, documentation, scheduling, bookkeeping, and follow-up still have to be right and on time.

Our role is to make that work more manageable. We are proud of what has been built, and honest about what is left to improve. Thank you to every client, employee, partner, trainer, guest, and restoration professional who has been part of this journey.

Three years in, we are grateful, still learning, and still building.
